One of the things I appreciated most was the dashboard — it's very user-friendly and makes it easy to access all learning materials. It also allows you to track your progress and review your mistakes […]

Each lesson lasts 55 minutes, online, with the same Cambridge CELTA-qualified tutor. You meet on the same day and at the same time every week: Tuesday at 7 pm, for example. Many students take one lesson a week, others take two or three. The day and time don't move, so English stops being something you fit in when you can.
Your tutor works from a plan built on what you need English for: meetings, calls, presentations, travel, or just speaking without translating in your head first. The lesson is built around you speaking: your tutor asks, listens and gets the English out of you, instead of giving you a lecture. Grammar, vocabulary and how you build a sentence are worked on as they come up in what you say. After each lesson, the materials, notes and homework go into MyMEI, your student area. You can see how the plan and the progress tests work step by step.
Most adults who stop learning English don't stop because it's too hard. They stop because nothing in their week depends on it. A fixed appointment with a person who expects you changes that. You don't decide every week whether to study: the decision is already in your calendar.
The same tutor also means nobody starts from zero. Your tutor knows your job, your goals and your usual mistakes, and is in a position to tell you when you're wrong. That's the part of a private lesson that an app or an AI tutor can't give you: a real conversation, with a real person waiting for you.
Your tutor is an MEI tutor, from our small team. Cambridge CELTA-qualified, with at least 10 years of teaching, and part of the school, not a freelancer passing through. An experienced professional, with a career in teaching behind them.
MEI tutors work with professionals who use English in meetings, calls and emails, and with people who simply want to travel and live better in English. Expect serious work, done with energy and a positive attitude: the lesson is the hour of your week when you speak English, not the hour you listen to someone else speak it.
With a freelance tutor from a marketplace (e.g. Preply, italki, Classgap), you choose from profiles, and the schedule is as flexible as you both want. Flexibility sounds good. In practice, weeks get skipped and the plan gets longer and longer. At MEI you keep the relationship with one tutor, and you get the organisation of a school:
You won't find a catalogue of tutors on this site. That's a policy: you don't choose from a list, we match you, after a first call. If something isn't working, we change it.
An individual lesson costs €35 for 55 minutes. There are no packages and no long contracts: you go month by month. With one lesson a week, a month usually has four or five lessons; with two lessons a week, eight to ten. The pricing page shows how a month adds up.
You pay for the calendar month in advance, at the start of the month, with a regular invoice. The month includes the lessons of your weekly rhythm: a month with five Tuesdays has five Tuesday lessons. You can start mid-month and pay only for the lessons left. To stop, one line by email within 3 days of the end of the month is enough.
Book 15 minutes with Marcus, MEI's founder and Director of Studies. The call is free, in English, Italian, Spanish or Russian, camera optional, with no level test. Marcus asks what you need English for and when you're usually free. Then he matches you with your MEI tutor and a weekly slot, or slots. If the call goes well for both of us, you can start the following week. Prefer to write first? Message Marcus: two questions and your email, and he answers you himself.

No. Your level doesn't matter: your calendar does. There's no level test in the first call. Your tutor starts from where you are, and the progress test every two months shows how you're changing.
No, we match you. We all choose the people we like, but a tutor chosen that way tends to do what you want, not always what you need. Every MEI tutor is Cambridge CELTA-qualified, with at least 10 years of teaching. Marcus matches you after the first call, based on your goals and your week. You can hear MEI tutors on the About page.
One or more. Many students start with one lesson a week; with a deadline, two or three make sense. Whatever the number, each lesson keeps the same day and time every week.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the lesson, from the MyMEI app. You can then reschedule it on any other day or at any other time within 45 days.
No. You pay per lesson, month by month, at the start of the month, with no packages. To stop, send one line by email within 3 days of the end of the month.
Adults, 21 and older. Mostly professionals who have tried to learn English before and stopped, and want a rhythm they can keep.
