Quote per group

Every company starts with a first call with Marcus.

Four steps

How a team starts

  1. Step 1

    A call with Marcus

A free 15-minute call with the person who organises the training. What does the team need English for? How many people? When can they meet?

  2. Step 2

    A path and a quote

One of the five paths, or a mix. Marcus sends a quote for the group.

  3. Step 3

    The team shows up

The same tutor, on the same day and at the same time every week. One or more 55-minute lessons a week.

  4. Step 4

    We check it's working

Every participant has MyMEI and a progress test every two months. The tutor and a supervisor read the results and adjust the plan.

English training that fits the working week

Many company English courses start well and fade by spring. People miss lessons for meetings, the teacher changes, and the course follows a book instead of the team. We work the other way round: a small group, the same tutor, a fixed time in everyone's calendar, and a plan built on the English the team uses at work.

Groups go from 3 to 8 people. Small enough for everyone to speak in every lesson; big enough to practise real meetings and discussions. Lessons are online, so colleagues in different offices, or working from home, join the same lesson. Below are the five paths. A team can follow one, or combine two.

Presentations & Public Speaking

For teams that present to clients, management or international colleagues. We work on structure, clear openings and endings, the language that guides the audience from one point to the next, and answering questions without losing the thread. Everyone presents during the lessons and gets feedback on language, pace and clarity.

The goal is simple: present in English with the same control you have in your own language. Less reading from the slides, more talking to people.

Negotiations

For sales, purchasing, partnerships, and anyone who discusses terms in English. Negotiating in a second language is hard for a precise reason: you need to be exact and polite at the same time, under pressure. We practise the language of proposals, conditions, concessions and disagreement, and the small phrases that keep a conversation open when the answer is no.

Lessons use role plays based on the team's real situations, so the language is ready before the real call.

Business-oriented English

The everyday English of work: meetings, calls, small talk with clients and colleagues, the occasional email. The tutor builds the plan on the team's sector and on the situations people deal with every week, so what they learn on Tuesday they can use on Wednesday.

General English: the most common gap

This is the path companies underestimate most, and the gap we find most often. Many teams ask only for business English. But there is no business English without the verbs, the structures and the vocabulary of every day: business English is everyday English, used at work. When a team struggles in an international meeting, the problem is rarely business vocabulary. It's the base: questions that come out wrong, verb tenses that change the meaning, not following a colleague who speaks at normal speed, stopping to look for a simple word.

A course in negotiation phrases doesn't help someone who can't follow a fast question. Business English built on weak General English sounds memorised, and breaks at the first unexpected answer. A solid base makes every specialised path faster later. For many teams General English is the right first step, even when nobody asks for it.

Custom paths

When the team's needs don't fit one box: a mix of the paths above, or something specific, like preparing for an international project, a trade fair or a new market. Marcus builds the path with you in the first call, and the tutor adjusts it as the team changes.

Short courses with one goal

Sometimes a team needs one thing, by a date: a presentation at a conference, a negotiation, a project kick-off. For this we run short, focused courses. They don't include progress tests; at the end, each participant receives a confirmation or certificate of attendance, or of the goal reached. The 55-minute lessons and the test every two months described on this page are for the regular paths.

Different levels, MyMEI and personal data

Some difference in level inside a group is normal, and it works. A substantial gap doesn't: in that case we split the team into two smaller groups, so nobody is waiting and nobody is lost.

Every participant has their own MyMEI and takes the progress tests, as in individual lessons. Individual results don't go to the company without the person's explicit consent. If the company needs them, this can be a clause agreed with everyone from the start.

Teams of one or two: individual and paired lessons

Under 3 people, a group isn't the right format. For one person there are individual lessons at €35 per lesson; for two colleagues, paired lessons at €24 per person, per lesson. Same tutor, same weekly slot, same structure behind.

Price: a quote for each group

The price depends on the size of the group, the path and the number of lessons a week. So Marcus sends a quote for each group after the first call. The company receives a regular company invoice, and payment is always in advance: monthly, quarterly or for the whole course, as agreed.

Questions about English for companies

How big can a group be?

From 3 to 8 people. For one or two people, companies use individual and paired lessons.

Can people with different levels be in the same group?

Yes, within limits. Some difference is normal. If the gap is substantial, we split the team into two smaller groups. Marcus looks at this with you in the first call.

Are the lessons online?

Yes. All lessons are online, so colleagues in different offices, or working from home, can join the same lesson.

Who is the tutor?

An MEI tutor from our small team: Cambridge CELTA-qualified, with at least 10 years of teaching, and experience training professionals. We match the tutor to the team and the path. You don't choose from a catalogue: MEI tutors stay anonymous on the site.

How do we know it's working?

Every participant has MyMEI and a progress test every two months, and a supervisor follows the plan and the tutor. If something isn't working, we change it. Individual results go to the company only with each person's explicit consent, which can be agreed from the start.

How is the training invoiced?

With a regular company invoice. Payment is always in advance: monthly, quarterly or for the whole course, as agreed in the quote.
